Ideas bouncing
I got one... I am now the proud owner of a lovely HTC Hero (well, technically, since it's in black, it's a G2... Why the US one with a different case and radio module is still a Hero, while the one with a different colour case in Europe changes name is a mystery..)
Now, therefore, I'm in the phase of ownership where I notice all the niggly little things that aren't quite right with it, and which no-one seems to have written an app for yet. And, since it's a open system, write them, if at all possible!
So, things that need sorting:
1. Librarything integration. There are barcode scanner apps with APIs, Librarything has an API. There isn't something tying them together as far as I've found. Basically, I want to be able to scan in a book's barcode, then get a page showing what it is, whether it is in my collection, and a number of further options. In particular, I want to be able to see what other books by that author I own, and where this book fits in a series, if it is in a series.
2. Audiobook player. There are media players, but, despite the m4b format being just a bog standard m4a file (which Android supports already) with a bookmark tag, there aren't any players that support bookmarking media files. Audible support would be good, but it's all wrapped up in DRM rubbish, so my personal preference in this one is to persuade Audible to follow their parent company Amazon and drop the DRM...
I'm sure as I use it I'll think of more!
